Those with a keen eye might have noticed a subtle change to the paintwork of the Repsol Honda Team bikes flying round Valencia during today’s GP test. The Red Bull logo now appears prominently on the front fenders and lower bodywork on the teams bikes, and could also be clearly seen on the leathers of their two factory riders – double world champion Marc Marquez and his team-mate Dani Pedrosa. This is the first time the logo has appeared on the team’s Honda RC213V machines, and Red Bull is now the official energy drink partner of the Repsol Honda Team for the next two seasons.
HRC executive vice president Shuhei Nakamoto said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to grow our partnership with Red Bull. It is an iconic global brand with whom we’ve worked alongside for nine years, so this was the logical next step. I’m sure that this new partnership will increase our visibility, not only as Honda, but also MotoGP on a whole to a wider global audience, which can only be good for the sport.”
